About
A haven for the shaping of new worlds and the telling of tales – rooted in tradition, woven with wonder, and set apart from the tumult of the modern age.
Spellcraft Club is a haven for the shaping of new stories – tales rooted in tradition and woven with wonder. It is a calm stead amidst the tumult of the modern world, where men may turn their minds to the craft of building worlds and telling the tales that dwell within them.
To us, story is a fundamental part of what it means to be a man. Stories bind us to one another, and when the burdens of life grow heavy, we may find shelter in their company. Yet they are more than mere escape: drawn from the deep well of European tradition – its myths, folktales, and ancient verse – they bring us closer to our forefathers: their lives, their hopes, and their wisdom. From this knowledge springs strength, and with it, a renewed sense of purpose. And even if one were to set such riches aside, the sheer delight in crafting and sharing tales is joy enough.
The work of Spellcraft Club may be thought of as twofold, in keeping with its name. The first – spellcraft – is creative: the shaping of new narratives, whether vast imagined realms, brief whimsical tales, metered verse, or yarns woven into myriad other forms. The second – club – is communal: the sharing of our craft through writing, livestreams, conversation, and other means, kindling a fellowship through shared purpose and craft.
Within the Club, we are of a traditional mind, and carry a deep and abiding love for our European heritage, with a particular fondness for England and her British and Germanic kin. This spirit lives in our work, and we make no apology for it – nor do we see cause to do otherwise. Yet do not mistake us: we are not a political gathering, nor given to complaint or idle scorn of other works; our endeavour is one of creation, and we see little worth in spending our time seeking to bring low the efforts of others, when we might instead raise high our own.
May your time here be merry and filled with worth.
